Paintable wallpaper is designed to be painted one color and come in a wide variety of raised patterns and textures. Instead of painting it a solid color, you can use your creativity and paint designs on it, or highlight the texture of the wallpaper by sponging it. Painted pattern can be everything from classic folk art to more contemporary images, such as birds sitting on a wire. For sponging, use a solid base color and an accent color that is the same color family.
Projected and painted design, place the opaque projector lens towards paintable wallpaper on the wall where you want to paint the design. Insert the paper with the design on the projector. Turn on the projector, and turn off all the lights in the room. Adjust the position so that the design is in the desire position on the wall. Adjust focus of the projector so that the image is clear.
Create designs on paintable wallpaper; draw the design on the wall with a pencil. You can make the design as much detail as you want, based on the image is project on the wall. Turn off the projector and turn the lights back into the room. Paint along the pencil lines with paint and a small paintbrush to create the outline of the design. Use a large brush to fill in the design. Let the paint dry for at least four hours and go back over it a second time if desired.
