Folding clothes drying rack – It may not seem like much, but when you start adding up all the loads of laundry done for a family each week, it can really add up over a year. A folding wooden drying rack for your clothes can save money, save energy and can be done quickly and cheaply. This wall-mounted clothes drying rack can make a beautiful accessory for your laundry.
To make a folding clothes drying rack, select two of the four 1/2-inch by 2-inch wooden strips. Strips should each 1 3/4-foot in length. Assemble the rack frame. Hammer ends of each of four 24-inch dowels into the holes you have just drilled. You now have two parallel wooden strips that form two sides of your rack frame, connected by four dowels. Nail the other two wood strips to the upper and lower part of the dowel rack to complete the rack.
Insert pin hinges along the inside against the bottom of the rack. Folding clothes drying rack will fold against a 2-foot by 2-foot wall-mounted piece of wood. This piece should be 1/2-inch thick. Attend one side of the pin hinges to the bottom rack and the other side to wall-mounted support board about three inches from the bottom. You leave this 3-inch space for buttons. These hinges allow the rack to angle forward when open.
