Homemade Curtain Holdbacks

With curtain holdbacks, you can give your curtains to cover the window, blocking out the sun or to keep prying eyes from looking at while you drag them back to let the light pour at other times. Many companies mass produce curtain holdbacks, but you are not referred to these prefabricated opportunities. Instead of buying a generic set of curtain pulls, get crafty and create your own to give your space a distinctive look.

If your room is frilly and feminine, the tape tiebacks prove the perfect solution. Select the tape to match your curtain holdbacks, to select a thick grain-grow band for best results. Copy tape in the 18-inch strips. Turn the edges of the tape, sew them to give pieces finished edges. Buy petite plastic circles and sew in place on each end of the belt. Place two small nail of your wall on each side of the window, care to place them at the same height. Choose nails with large heads for ease of use so that the plastic rings do not slip out. To use these holdbacks, gather your curtain and wrap tape around it, the edges meet at the outer edge of the curtain hook the two round circles on your nails, positioning belt edges to cover the nail head.
